Seminar 10

Hey, buddy! Wassup? Here I'm again and today I gonna introduce u another interesting topic - MALL (Mobile Assisted Language Learning).

Have you ever imagined modern life without a phone? Nowadays it's almost impossible to live at least a couple of days without a phone, as if you were without arms. Progress ain't stand still, so now the phone has also become an excellent tool in self-education. There are many different learning apps that will be with you, wherever you take your phone.
Ease of use, compactness, the possibility of self-study and mobility create comfortable conditions for educational purposes.

Now I wanna talk about QR-codes:
Of course, you often saw strange patterns of black and white squares on the pages of magazines, newspapers, or on various flyers, and even God knows where, and did not understand what they mean. A QR code is a two-dimensional barcode that provides information for quick recognition using a camera on a mobile phone. A QR code is convenient in that it allows you to encrypt several thousand characters in one picture. At the same time, the size of a QR code can vary greatly from a small centimeter square to a large image that can be placed on any flat surface. In the educational process, the QR code can be used as: addition to texts or articles, links to the schedule of students, polls, rules, interesting facts and so on.

You also may scan this QR-code and tell in the comments where u are.

And here we smoothly came to the apps that help in learning. Cool app for learning words - Quizlet - card storage service, which you can learn foreign languages and any other information that can be presented in the form of these same cards. Well, the finest feature of this app is that cards with words you can make yourself and share them with friends. So, u can try my own cards, just "click" here.

Seminar 9

This time I'd like to tell u about some online-courses.
One of the latest innovations in education has become the possibility of distance learning through online e-courses.
MOOС is a new educational format that is increasingly penetrating our lives. This is one of the most popular and promising areas in world education. This makes it possible to study any subject or discipline for free at any time convenient for you. Here you have the opportunity to listen to lectures, upload notes, contribute, and, most importantly, share your point of view, exchange information with your peers.

Some online-courses u can check out the links below:

Canvas offers various courses. Most courses are free. The main focus is on the practical application of information technology in various areas of life. Canvas Catalog is a new service that will allow universities and other training providers to post their e-courses, organize registration, accept payments, doing all this through a single platform.

Seminar 8

"World Encyclopedia of Knowledge, accessible to everyone".

Probably everybody on this planet who wanted to learn knowledge dreamed about it many years ago.
Now this resource is presented in the form of server software that allows you to work with data on a remote server on the Internet. Users interact with the software through a web interface that allows them to read, edit and publish content. In other words, every mortal can add texts and images, rewrite, edit information. Of course, everything is subject to moderation.

WIKI sites include:

  • Encyclopedic editions

Being an information resource, this site attracts hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world to contribute, and hundreds of millions just to read.

  • Corporate WIKI

Knowledge bases that collect corporate rules, workflows, case studies that accumulate in the company over the years. Used to train new employees.

  • Fan WIKI

These are websites dedicated to a specific area that excites a group of people. From anime lovers to beer lovers, from movie lovers to architects and designers.

  • Educational WIKI

These are mainly collective research projects. These problem-oriented projects are usually developed by students and moderated by their teachers. Can also be used in education as a resource and collaboration environment.

Here're some educational wiki-projects:
Wikiversity This is a project dedicated to educational resources, educational projects and research for use at all levels, types and styles of education, including vocational training and non-formal education.
Teflpedia is a great example of a community of professional teachers that comes together via a wiki. This wiki dedicated to everything related to the teaching of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) or second language (TESL).
Upd: I want to add from myself another very useful web-site "Click". This is a cool Wiktionary with a detailed analysis of each word. It helps me almost every time in university. Hope u2)

Seminar 7

Of course, each of us, studying at the university, tests our knowledge with the help of various examinations. But not everyone performed the tests with the help of the following services in the creation and organization of testing.

MyTestX is a system of programs (student testing program, test editor and results log) for creating and conducting computer testing, collecting and analyzing results, and grading on the scale specified in the test. The program is easy and convenient to use. With the help of the MyTestX program, it is possible to organize and conduct testing, examinations in any educational institutions (universities, colleges, schools) both with the goal of identifying the level of knowledge in any academic discipline and with educational objectives.

Google forms certainly will not remain without attention. In the last post I mentioned it, but again, this is one of the most convenient services for making various tests, etc. Plus, it's free. "Click" this link and pass my own test 😉

And, of course, I could not fail to mention such a wonderful application that we ourselves use in the university - Socrative.

Seminar 6

Now I would talk a little about Google services. Its functionality is getting better and more convenient every year, and it is applicable in large areas of activity.

Google Docs is a whole set of convenient tools for editing and formatting text files. Use different fonts, add links, images, pictures and tables. And all this for free! Create, edit and view documents on any device - phone, tablet or computer. All this can be done even without an Internet connection. All changes are automatically saved during work. Moreover, thanks to the change history, you can see a list of previous versions of the document, sorted by date and author of changes.

With Google Forms, you can not only quickly conduct a survey, but also create a guest list, collect email addresses for a newsletter, and even hold a quiz. In our collection there are topics for all occasions. And you can create a theme yourself - just upload a photo or logo, and the Forms will automatically select the appropriate color scheme. Choose question types from simple text fields to complex scales and grids. Add YouTube videos and photos to your form. You can also customize the form so that respondents get to different pages depending on which answer option they choose. Forms can be easily created, edited, and completed both on a computer and on mobile devices.

Google Sheets. Complete your data in Google Spreadsheets with color charts and graphs. Save time and effort with built-in formulas, pivot tables, and conditional formatting features. All changes are automatically saved during work. Moreover, thanks to the change history, you can see a list of previous versions of the table, sorted by date and author of changes.

In fact, this is not all, but you can easily be aware of all the innovations by logging into your Google account.

Seminar 5

Hi, my darlings)
Nowadays people surf in Internet a lot and ofc we need to save a large number of web-sites we liked. Bookmarks will help u with this!
I think the best choice is "Visual bookmarks" from the full app "Yandex elemets". It's full free and super handy.
You can easily make it the start page, add bookmarks, change or delete their address, change the background, etc. Hope u'll enjoy it!
Also u can try another bookmarks:

Thx a lot)

Seminar 4

Hello everyone! How is it goin'? Let's continue our English learning. Today I wanna introduce some interesting stuff for creating presentations.

For sure u have ever created presentations for some seminars in ur university. Looking at all, u create presentations by the default program Microsoft PowerPoint all the time, and ofc u could face the problem to create ur own presentation more colorful and respectable. But now u'll be pleasantly surprised, this online-programs should solve any issues with that.

The leading app is Prezi. Its distinctive feature is that all slides are located on a huge desktop and switch among themselves by means of zooming-effect, which allows u to create a real presentation script, without being distracted by developing additional ways to attract the attention of viewers. The possibility of collective work on one project in real time, inserting video, animated and vector images, audio and PDF-docs in ur presentation. But there's no such thing as a free lunch! This pleasure costs 159$ a year! If u're just a student u can also create ur presentations online,  it's full free, seemingly.
Here's my own little presentation

Also I wanna introduce u another web-site slideshare.net

Users can upload files privately or publicly in PowerPoint, Word, PDF, or OpenDocument format. It can be seen that it can be seen on the site. Launched on October 4, 2006, but for slideshows. It was acquired by LinkedIn in 2012. It’sn’t been up to you to entertain.Although the The website is primarily a hosting service, it also supports documents, PDFs, videos and webinars.
